I’m Alejandro, I’m a student who completed 140 class which is level 6.  I would talk about the good things and bad things in class 140. Then i’m gonna move really quick to mention some suggestion to make 140 as perfect class for students.

First of all, I will talk about the curriculum of 140 class. The curriculum was a pretty good. I admit that it’s so helpful for me. And the diversity of the subjects helped to make the curriculum very helpful. And I like that we practice so much in class. I mean, we always doing our assignments during the class. Actually is better to put all your effort in your assignment during class. And that is good if you miss with something, you may ask your classmate for help. That is the most thing I like it in our class.

The bad thing that I noticed in our class that is there are some of students who depending on the other students. And that is so bad. That happened because teachers are not that much strict. So, I highly suggest that teacher should become more strictly than they were. Because that definitely is for student’s interests.

In the end I would like to thank Melissa and all teachers who taught me in this lovely school.
And wish them the best in their life.

thank you

Alejandro (:

As I said, I’m going to continue explaining some more examples about irregular verbs. So the first example in this blog is “I think every cartoonist in America has (drew / drawn) at least one caricature of a president”. the correct answer is drawn because has always needs a participle after. I couldn't believe it when my mother said that gasoline (cost / costed) fifty cents a gallon when she got her license. the correct answer is cost because there is no word called costed. So, here we finished all blogs. no blogs any more and no grammar quizzes any more.

thank you

In 27-4 quiz. it was about irregular verbs. I did pretty good on it. So as usual i’m going to explain some examples about irregular verbs. First, How many times have you (swore / sworn) to yourself, "I'll diet tomorrow, after one more piece of cheesecake"?. the correct answer is sworen because of this kind of a grammar the past participle required. Another example: The tutor was satisfied that Max had (wrote / written) a fairly intelligent essay. the correct answer is written because the same rule with the first example. I will continue in the next blog.

thank you

In 26-4 quiz, I got full score. It was the same to 26-3 quiz. it was about adjective and adverb too. So, in this blog i’m going to continue with the same topic by giving and explaining more examples. All of us on the team felt (bad / badly) about our performance. the correct answer is bad because felt is a linking verb. This incident could have been handled more (professional / professionally) if lines of communication had been kept open. The correct answer is professionally because it modify the verb such as a handled. So, here we finished with adjective and adverb.

thank you

in 26-3 quiz, I did good on it, and it was about adjective and adverb. So, I’m going to give you some example of that topic then I will explain the answer. first example: Most city rats are Norway rats; they came on ships from Europe, and their numbers grew very (quick / quickly). The correct answer is quickly because it describe the meaning of the verp grew. So, adverb is a word or phrase that qualifies the adjective or verb or other adverb. And the adjective is a word or phrase comes after the noun. So, here we finished.

thank you

In 25-2 quiz, I did a very good on it. It was about “whom” and “who”. And I have been studying this subject since level four. So I’m good on it. Whom and who, when do we use whom And when do we use who!?. So, we use “ who” when we ask which person does an action. And we use “ whom” when we ask which person received an action. For example: Who did kiss me when I was sleeping?. We asked About the person who kissed me ( the person who did an action). Whom did you kiss yesterday?. We asked about the person whom he kissed ( who received an action).

thank you (:

Notice : All blogs was written by Alejandro ( His own words)

In 23-5 quiz, was also about pronoun references. But in this time, It was with different type of question. It comes with correct the sentence. And now I will write some sentences from the quiz and I will explain the mistakes. We have a staff of experienced technicians that will service your copier within two hours of a service call. In this sentence we should not use “that” because technicians are people, So we should use “ who” instead of “that”. In Professor Jamal's class, you are lucky to earn a C. I think it’s good sentence but there is small misleading mistake which it is “ you”. Better use students to make the sentence more clear.

In 23-4 quiz, was exactly the same to 23-3 quiz. But I did pretty good in 23-4 quiz. So, I’m gonna show you more examples of pronoun reference. In my hometown, (we / you) wait on the bus and fix dinner and go to the store for light bread. I used “we” in this example because “you”  does not mean anyone in general. Another example: We are proud of our children, three of (whom / which) have become legislators. I used “whom” because It’s for the noun and I didn’t use “which” because it’s for things. And the noun was “ our children “, So I used the word “ whom”.

In 23-3 quiz, It was so hard for me. I didn’t even understand the point of that quiz. It was really hard. It was about Pronoun reference. But after I made research, I realized what the quiz was about. So, the pronoun reference is words to define the pronoun clearly. such as it, they, that, those, this, etc. For example, take the phone out of the car and fix it. So, If read this example you won’t be able to know which item should be fixed. Because it has two possible item: car and the phone. So, the answer is not clear. to make it clear just use car or the radio and the end of the sentence.

In 22-5 quiz, was not too easy for me. It was about Pronoun-antecedent agreement. I tried all my best and I got maybe 5 of 10. And I should practise it more than I do. So, the quiz was given sentence and blank below, and I think, it wants you to rephrase the sentence or maybe something else. Actually, I didn’t understand exactly what it wants. I wish, I get better next time. In 24-3 quiz, I did terrible too. It was about pronoun case (such as I vs me). It looks easy but it’s not. I got 4 of 10 on that quiz.

thank you

As I said in this blog we’re going to continue what we started with Subject-verb agreement. So, When sentences start with “there” or “here,” the subject will always be placed after the verb, so care needs to be taken to identify it correctly. For example: There is a problem with the balance sheet. Here are the papers you requested. If two infinitives are separated by and they take the plural form of the verb. For example: To walk and to chew gum require great skill. When gerunds are used as the subject of a sentence, they take the singular verb form of the verb; but, when they are linked by and, they take the plural form. For example: Standing in the water was a bad idea. Swimming in the ocean and playing drums are my hobbies.

In 21-5 quiz, was about Subject-verb agreement too. So, in this blog I will continue with the same topic. Here are some rules of Subject-verb agreement which the first one is Subjects and verbs must agree in number. Second, If two subjects are joined by and, they typically require a plural verb form. Third,  If one of the words each, every, or no comes before the subject, the verb is singular. Forth, The singular verb form is usually used for units of measurement or time. And I will continue with more rules in the next blog. So, see me in the next blog.

Thank you
In 21-3 quiz, I did very good on it. The quiz was about Subject-verb agreement which is  if  the subject of a sentence is composed of two or more nouns or pronouns connected by and, use a plural verb. But if it two or more singular nouns or pronouns are connected by or or nor, use a singular verb. I got full mark on that quiz. It was so easy for me. In 24-1 quiz, I got full mark tow because it’s the same 21-4 quiz. So, I’m done now, and see me in the next blog.

thank you

In 33-3 quiz and 33-4 quiz are exactly similar. So, that why I separated the basic rules. So, let’s continue the basic rules. We finished two rules and we gonna start with three. So thired, Use commas to separate two or more adjectives. For example, He picked up the crabby, crying baby. with that example we separated two adjectives Conformable to third rule of basic rules of using the comma. Fourthly and it’s the last rule is Use commas to separate three or more items in other series. For example, She likes to ski, snowboard, and kayak. with this example we separated three item Conformable to the last rule.

In 33-3 quiz, I did very good because it was so easy and It was about misuses of the comma. So, I will talk about four basic of using the comma. First of all, use a comma before and, but, or, for, nor, so, and yet when they connect two independent clauses. For example, the cook got sick, but dinner was served anyway. Second, Use a comma after one or more introductory words that come before your main sentence. For example, When she saw her grade, she was glad. So, I will continue the rest of four basic rules of using the comma in next blog.
In 32-10 quiz, It still about comma. But this time about all uses of the comma. So, I will define how comma uses. I use commas to separate words and word groups in a simple series of three or more items. For example,  My estate goes to my husband, son, daughter-in-law, and nephew. So, we used comma between husband, son, daughter-in-law, and nephew to separate them to make perfect sentence. So, be careful when you use the comma. and we  done here and see you in the next blog.

In quiz 32-8. It was about Major uses of the comma. I thought It’s easy quiz but it wasn’t. So, in this quiz you will see most the questions about comma. It was really helpful. I got 40% on the quiz because it was so complicated. whatever I got it’s not important,  the important thing is to benefit from my mistake. In quiz 32-9, it was about the same in 32-8 quiz. exactly the same. and I did better than 32-8 quiz. But I still need more practice on it. I got 60% on it. So, the blog done here.

recently, I wrote about articles in 29-3 quiz. Today in 29-4 quiz is about Using articles. And I think It looks smiler to 29-3 quiz. In fact, I don't know what the difference between each one. But anyway I search about articles On the internet and I found that articles is a word that is used with a noun to indicate the type of reference being made by the noun. And the articles in English language are The and an\ a. Each one used with particular ways. The is used to refer to specific or particular nouns and a/an is used to modify non specific or non particular nouns. The called the definite article and an\a called  the indefinite article.

Thank you

In quiz 28-9. I'm sure that I did very good. But the problem is I did it from along time ago and I don't know how I forgot summaries it here. But I think it's just review of verbs. But the second problem is the website not available to make sure that  the topic which I wrote Is the same topic on website. I know this crazy but this United State WIFI. It's always crazy. So, I'm gonna move to the next quiz which is 29-3 quiz. It's about articles. It was not so easy because I'm not good with articles and I'm always facing problems while I write essay or writing. And I think, I need more lessons about articles.

thank you

In 29-3 quiz. It so hard because I'm not good with the article. I should learn more about an article grammar. In  29-4 quiz. It looks like 29-3 quiz. It still hard for me because It about using article. In 29-5 quiz. we still deal with crazy article. But this time slightly different. It about Article and types of nouns but It's easier than 29-3 quiz and 29-4 quiz. In 30-5 quiz. It was a ho-hum but there still some of difficult questions. It was about Omission and repetitions. The title looks weird but the questions which inside the folder  is so easy.

Easy about grammar quizzes

I took 28-5 quiz and it was so easy. Most questions are choosing the proper verb forms . It gives you two answer and you should choose just one. I's has easy questions and I think this quiz you have learned from level two or three. In 28-6 quiz. I did pretty good because I just have been learned for three week ago. It was about verbs forms with model.  As might, must, may, could, etc. And I haven't any problem with it. In 28-7 quiz. I was thinking it would be difficult or correctly it would be not easy. Because I was facing problems with this grammar at level 4. But I did well on it. It was about conditional sentence. In 28-8 quiz. It was so hard for me. I guess need more information about it. It was about verbs followed by gerunds or infinitive. It was really so hard. And I will talk about the other quizzes latter.

Thank you
